Goatfell, Nuwara Eliya

Perched high amongst the tea plantations and colonial town of Nuwara Eliya, Goatfell is a member of Teardrop Hotels, a group well acclaimed for restoring heritage buildings. No exception, Goatfell has recently undergone an extensive renovation creating a contemporary tea bungalow experience. With only four bedrooms this former tea managers bungalow exudes warmth and charm. Here you will experience exceptional service with your own butler and well curated daily menus. Unwind on the spacious veranda or by the cosy log fire and step back to a by gone era.

Travelling through the gentle slopes of the misty tea plantations you are just a 25-minute drive from the wonderful colonial hill station of Nuwara Eliya. Therefore, Goatfell makes for a perfect location from which to enjoy both the enchanting tea country and the historic town of Nuwara Eliya.

Each of the four rooms has been lovingly renovated with clean classic elegant interiors, sumptuous four poster beds and private furnished terraces offering direct access to the lovely gardens. Three of the double rooms are each arranged in a corner of the bungalow, whereas the fourth twin room sits opposite one of the double rooms which allows for a perfect interconnecting family suite should you need.

Along with the mountain views and manicured gardens there sits the inviting infinity swimming pool, perfect for whiling away an afternoon.

Aside from exploring the nearby sites of Nuwara Eliya you can also visit Hortons Plains and stroll through the reserve and high-altitude cloud forest. You are also close to Tothupola Kanda, Sri Lanka’s third highest mountain which of course offers spectacular panoramas from its peak. Closer to home you can stroll through the bungalows very own tea estate, accompanied by your butler should you wish, ending at Finlay’s Tea Factory for an insight into an authentic working tea factory of today.
