Inspired by the city’s colonial past Brunton Boatyard, Kerala has been resurrected from the remains of a Victorian shipbuilding yard, allowing the modern day traveller a unique opportunity to step back into the 19th century. Situated right on the water’s edge, all of the Brunton Boatyard’s twenty-two rooms overlook the sea, as well as the en-suite bathrooms. Each room is finished with high wooden ceilings, cool terracotta floors, old teak furniture and lovely old portraits and maps throughout.

Uncover the culinary offerings of this unique historic trading port at one of the three in-house restaurants. For it was in Cochin where the Jews discovered and incorporated coriander in a variety of their dishes, whilst the Dutch noticed that their deserts took on a whole new dimension with a pinch of fresh cinnamon. The local Syrian Christian community cooked up a variety of pork dishes that went very well with the native fresh rice appams and local seafood and spices. From fusion cuisine to uncovering the culinary history there are several restaurants to dine at within the hotel. Enjoy the harbor views over a fresh seafood feast at the Terrace Grill at night, or the Pier during the day.
