Amankora Bumthang, unlike the other lodges, rests in the heart of the valley, adjacent to the First and Second King’s palace, Wangdichholing, within the town of Jakar in the Choekhor valley.  Known as the spiritual hub of the country with over 29 temples, palaces, a treasure trove of traditional art and many monasteries on your doorstop Amankor Bumthang offers a very unique experience.  Here you will find extraordinary buildings such as the 7th century Jampa Lhakhang which is richly adorned and shrouded in folklore.

Just outside the city, the valley is sprinkled with an exotic mix of sloping pine forests, apple orchards and restful fields.  Many of the local farms have cottage industries where you can sample wonderful Emmenthal cheese, Bhutanese honey and the locally brewed Red Panda Beer.

Amankora Bumthang offers 16 guest suites in each of the four buildings, set over two floors and offering views of the courtyard, and nearby Wangdicholing Palace and monastery.

Now with flights operating from Paro to Bumthang, the region has never been so accessible.
